Earth Nudge!
Over the next two weeks, Betton Hills Neighborhood Association is celebrating Earth Day (which is April 22nd). We’ve organized various activities to focus on sustainability here in Betton Hills. Please come out and join us! Learn, share, and celebrate what we can do to live more harmoniously with the earth and our neighbors.
Week 1: Saturday, April 14

9:00 – 11:00.Invasive Plant Removal at McCord Park. Join Donna Legare, BHNA boardmember and plant expert, to remove invasive plants in McCord Park. Meet at 9:00 at the Armistead Rd. parking area.

11:00 – 11:30. Community Garden Tour. Join Eliza Hawkins, garden coordinator, for a garden tour and introduction to community gardening. Meet at the Betton Hills Community Garden on the McCord Park side of the road just north of the bridge on Cline St.

1:00 – 1:30. Rooftop Solar Demonstration. Join Mark Repasky, homeowner, to see his home rooftop solar system, learn the basics for installing and maintaining a rooftop system, and the its benefits. Location: 2009 W. Randolph Circle.
Week 2: Saturday, April 21
TBD. Slow Ride Betton Bicycle Tour. Join Mary Kay Falconer, BHNA boardmember and cyclist promoter, for a slow bike ride between McCord Park and Harriman Circle. This is a family-friendly event . . . bring the young and beginning bikers! We may also have some new styles of bikes for demo purposes at Harriman. Help us make Betton an even more bike-friendly neighborhood! Stay tuned for more details.
